Lyons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down the York Golden Knights 79-60. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 275th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for York, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will challenge Sodus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for York, they will take on Mount Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
