Volleyball Recap: Pennfield Falls to St. Philip Catholic Central in First Game of Season

Pennfield had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

St. Philip Catholic Central's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Pennfield has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Climax-Scotts on the 23rd. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Quincy on the 23rd.
