Preview: San Luis Obispo Classical Academy Grizzlies vs. Valley Christian Academy Lions
San Luis Obispo Classical Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Valley Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Luis Obispo Classical Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Valley Christian Academy is ranked third).
San Luis Obispo Classical Academy never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cuyama Valley last Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 34-8 victory. San Luis Obispo Classical Academy pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Cuyama Valley cut but never quite recovered from.
Daniel Talley had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Garrett Ferguson, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Coastal Christian on Saturday, but Coastal Christian never followed suit. They secured a 6-0 W over the Conquerors.
Their wins bumped San Luis Obispo Classical Academy to 3-4 and Valley Christian Academy to 6-2.
San Luis Obispo Classical Academy took a serious blow against Valley Christian Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 51-6. Can San Luis Obispo Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
