Basketball Recap: Mccook Skates Past Ralston with Ease

McCook won the last time they faced Ralston and things went their way on Thursday too. The McCook Bison breezed by the Ralston Rams to the tune of 73-46. Given the Bison's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Rams are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ralston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamar Rucker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Winner Mutoke was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

McCook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Ralston, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

McCook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-51 win against Louisville on the 3rd. Ralston has also already played their next contest, a 61-52 victory against Nebraska City on the 3rd.
