Volleyball Recap: Lydia Deans and Evann Curry Secure Win for Wake Christian Academy

Wake Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Trinity Academy Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Wake Christian Academy not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Trinity Academy between 18 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.

Leading Wake Christian Academy to victory were Evann Curry and Lydia Deans. Curry had 15 digs and seven assists, while Deans hit 63.6% for seven kills and 12 digs, three aces, and one block. Deans is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Wake Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 12 consecutive matches.

Wake Christian Academy's record now sits at 15-7. As for Trinity Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
