Basketball Recap: Safford Takes a Loss

Safford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions and fell 76-48. The Bulldogs lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 62-60 score last time.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Lambe, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Lambe has posted since back in December of 2024. Santino Almazan was another key player, going 9 of 13 en route to 20 points.

Safford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Safford will head out to take on Cholla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Catalina at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
