Hoover faced Daphne in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bucs skirted past the Trojans 7-5. This was payback for the Bucs, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hoover is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Daphne, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-8.
