Softball Recap: Fairmont Starts Season with Win at Home

Fairmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Clermont Northeastern Rockets a 9-0 shutout.

The team relied heavily on Sophia Barnette, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Carlee Netherton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont will welcome Eaton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Goshen at 5:00 p.m. on March 19th.
