Baseball Recap: Mohawk Area Wins Going Away Against Beaver Falls

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Mohawk Area was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Beaver Falls Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Vinny Pezzuolo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Stratton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Bobby Fadden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

Mohawk Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mohawk Area's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Beaver Falls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
