Baseball Recap: River Valley Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times River Valley and Athens have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Raiders lost 8-0 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Thursday.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Athens, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Coming up, River Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Alexander at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Athens, they will venture away from home to take on Nelsonville-York at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Buckeyes will have lost three straight heading into Monday's contest.
