Softball Recap: Scripps Ranch Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Scripps Ranch had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Madison Warhawks get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-4 back in April.

Kenzie Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Katelyn Toth was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Wong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Scripps Ranch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Scripps Ranch's record now sits at 11-6. As for Madison, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Coming up, Scripps Ranch will face off against Mira Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will welcome Clairemont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chieftains have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
