Baseball Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They came up short against the Wilson Tigers on Thursday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Gators' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lakewood's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wilson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will host South Florence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartsville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Foxes have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
