Basketball Recap: Huntington Piles Up the Points Against Gateway Charter Academy

Huntington not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 27, 2024 (when they won 68-30). They breezed past the Gateway Charter Academy Gators to the tune of 72-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Huntington was led to victory by Ejayden Mcdonald and Peyton Parker. Mcdonald went 8-for-11 on his way to 17 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Parker shot 62% from the field en route to 19 points. The last time Parker's field goal percentage was this high was back in January. Another player making a difference was Austin Turner, who posted eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Huntington's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Gateway Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Huntington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-51 win against Lincoln on the 24th. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they will challenge Corsicana at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. The Gators will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
