Baseball Game Preview: Coolidge Bears vs. Pinon Eagles

The Coolidge Bears will square off against the Pinon Eagles at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Coolidge's tournament run continued when they took on Willcox on Friday. Coolidge blew past Willcox 11-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Patrick Perez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Athyn Alphus, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Coolidge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willcox only posted an OBP of .458.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pinon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Coronado on Friday as Pinon made off with a 15-7 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Pinon's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.8 runs. As for Coolidge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
