Basketball Game Preview: Southlake Carroll Dragons vs. Boswell Pioneers

The Southlake Carroll Dragons will challenge the Boswell Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Southlake Carroll sitting on seven straight wins and Boswell on nine.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Southlake Carroll against Keller Central as the squad secured a 57-22 victory. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Chargers are ranked 698th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Boswell's way against North Crowley on Tuesday as Boswell made off with a 58-36 win. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Boswell's win came from a few key players Southlake Carroll will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sydney Durrah, who went 7 for 10 en route to 20 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camille Williams, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Southlake Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Boswell, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 33-2.

Southlake Carroll didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Boswell in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win.
