Basketball Recap: Sunlake Seahawks vs. Wharton Wildcats
Sunlake and Wharton squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Sunlake had to settle for second. They fell 68-57 to the Wharton Wildcats.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wharton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tysen Jefferson, who went 8 for 18 en route to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. That's the most points Jefferson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nick Womack, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.
Sunlake dropped their record down to 18-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wharton, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.
Sunlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wharton has already played their next contest (against Wiregrass Ranch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
