Baseball Recap: Interlake Triumphs

Interlake won the last time they faced Tyee and things went their way on Friday too. The Saints came out on top against the Titans by a score of 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Eric Wallin looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Sam Haufe was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Interlake's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Alex Diaz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Interlake's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Tyee, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Interlake will head out to challenge Cedarcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Wolves will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tyee, they will host Lindbergh at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.27 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
