Softball Game Preview: West Potomac Wolverines vs. Chantilly Chargers

The West Potomac Wolverines will face off against the Chantilly Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. West Potomac is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

West Potomac lost 17-7 to South County on Friday.

Avery Garr made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Driggers, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Chantilly came up short against Herndon on Friday, falling 13-3. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Chantilly saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Eig, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

West Potomac's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Chantilly, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

West Potomac took their victory against Chantilly in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 18-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Potomac since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
