Football Recap: Valley View Takes a Loss

Valley View extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They were dealt a 61-0 defeat at the hands of the Jacksboro Tigers. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 60-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Jacksboro, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Considering they have won four games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Gavit continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 293 yards and six TDs on only 11 passes. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 25 passing touchdowns on the season. Ryder Davis helped Gavit out on the ground, rushing for 105 yards and one score on only six carries.

Looking ahead, Valley View will be playing in front of their home fans against City View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Jacksboro, they will head out on the road to square off against Holliday at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
