Softball Recap: Combs Coyotes vs. Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks
Combs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks 19-2 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Coyotes as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Elliana Snyder was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Snyder was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Melissa Gonzalez and Jaecie Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzalez scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Johnson went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
