Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Victory

Queen's Grant had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots 96-63. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Queen's Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Howard, who went 11-for-14 on his way to 23 points. Howard has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Smith, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Queen's Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They posted 11 more assists than Piedmont Community Charter's also-impressive total of 13.

Despite the loss, Piedmont Community Charter still got an impressive performance from Henry Peprah, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Eli Grant, who posted eight points along with six boards and six steals.

Queen's Grant pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.3 points over those games. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Queen's Grant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 78-62 win against Carolina International on the 22nd. Piedmont Community Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
