Baseball Recap: DuBois Beavers vs. Indiana Little Indians
DuBois might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Indiana who claimed the real prize. The Beavers fell just short of the Little Indians by a score of 5-3. The Beavers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Noah Farrell was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Farrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trey Wingard, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
DuBois' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Indiana, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Coming up, DuBois will head out to square off against DuBois Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Beavers 3.9, the Cardinals 0.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Indiana, they will welcome Hollidaysburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Tigers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Little Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
