Baseball Recap: Addison Trail Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Addison Trail dropped their record down to 7-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Willowbrook Warriors, falling 19-13. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Monday.

Addison Trail got a massive performance out of Casey Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. The Blazers are 3-1 when Carlson posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trevor Sosin, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and four RBI.

As for Willowbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Willowbrook's side, Jesus Torres was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Torres a new career-high. Alec Ramey also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Looking ahead, Willowbrook will challenge Downers Grove South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Addison Trail will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' matchup: after the Warriors face off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Addison Trail again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
