Softball Recap: Brooklynn Walton Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Friendswood

Angleton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Friendswood Mustangs by a score of 3-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 back in March.

Bella Nava and Kadeyn Patin dominated on the mound. Nava pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Patin didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Nava has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Angleton's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooklynn Walton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Walton has posted since back in March of 2024.

Angleton's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Friendswood, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Angleton will face off against rival Texas City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Friendswood is set to square off against their familiar foe Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
