Volleyball Recap: Kouts Comes Up Short

Kouts suffered their biggest loss since April 14th on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Central Indians. The Mustangs & Fillies' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.

Jake Boomer paced Kouts' offense, picking up nine kills. Boomer got some help from Gavin DeYoung and his 17 assists. Finally, DeYoung was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Kouts' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Lake Central, they pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Kouts will take on Michigan City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Lake Central and Munster will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
