Basketball Recap: Brunswick Comes Up Short

If Brunswick was feeling good fresh off their 69-41 takedown of Clear Spring last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brunswick Railroaders were dealt a 77-45 defeat at the hands of the Williamsport Wildcats on Tuesday. The Railroaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.

Williamsport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jahmeir Byrd, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 19 points along with eight boards and five assists. Those five assists gave Byrd a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ceonta Wilmore, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The loss snapped Brunswick's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record. As for Williamsport, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Brunswick is facing Catoctin at the right time seeing as Catoctin is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. Williamsport has already played their next match (against Middletown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
