Softball Recap: Franklin County Tech Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

There's no place like home for Franklin County Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Whitinsville Christian Crusaders a 17-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Eagles have won 13 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hannah Gilbert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylee Gamache was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Samantha Duncan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four runs and one RBI.

Franklin County Tech is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Whitinsville Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

As of now, neither Franklin County Tech nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
