Softball Recap: Lake Howell Beats Seminole for Their Eighth Straight Win

While Lake Howell's win against Seminole wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Silverhawks skirted past the Seminoles 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Silverhawks sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Rhianna Hudson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cate Haggerty was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Skaii Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Lake Howell pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Seminole, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Howell will host Deltona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Silverhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seminole, they will welcome Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
