Basketball Recap: Grapevine Comes Up Short

Grapevine won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They lost 43-17 to the Argyle Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Argyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Grapevine and Argyle should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Grapevine will challenge Denton at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday up 429 places (398 vs. 827). Similarly, Argyle (ranked 11th) will meet Colleyville Heritage (ranked 684th) at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
