Piedmont Academy had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 4-5 to make it seven. They blew past the Stratford Academy Eagles 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Stratford Academy, they now have a losing record of 10-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since August 6th.

Despite the loss, Stratford Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bea Leary had 13 digs.

Piedmont Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against First Presbyterian Day on the 2nd. As for Stratford Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Creekside Christian Academy on the 2nd.
