Basketball Game Preview: Central Magnet vs. Cascade Champions

Central Magnet will venture away from home to take on the Cascade Champions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Central Magnet's tournament run continued when they took on Tullahoma on Monday. Central Magnet lost 57-34 to Tullahoma. While losing is never fun, Central Magnet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Tullahoma is ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Cascade came up short against Blackman last Saturday, falling 45-24. The match marked the Champions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Central Magnet has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Cascade, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Central Magnet was dealt a bruising 67-38 loss at the hands of Cascade in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Central Magnet avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
