Football Recap: Dove Creek Bulldogs vs. Plateau Valley Cowboys
Dove Creek took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past the Plateau Valley Cowboys 36-12. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Josh Kibel was a one-man wrecking crew for Dove Creek as he rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Kibel's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Although Plateau Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Virgil James Kuper and London Mitchell.
Dove Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Rangely at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have been evenly matched recently as the teams are 5-5 against one another since September of 2014. As for Plateau Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Custer County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plateau Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
