Baseball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Douglas and Hopedale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers lost 14-3 to the Blue Raiders on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.

Andrew Nason made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Douglas is 2-1 when Nason posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Hopedale, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Coming up, Douglas is taking a road trip to take on Quabbin Regional at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hopedale, they will welcome Oxford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
