Baseball Recap: Huntsville Extends Winning Streak to Three

Huntsville waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Albertville Aggies. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Reece Thomas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Thomas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Howell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Howell also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another was Alex Cothren, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Huntsville's victory bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Albertville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Huntsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Aggies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
