Football Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Heritage dropped down to 4-6 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 24-3 to the Wake Forest Cougars. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 13-10 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Cole Perry, who rushed for 75 yards, and also threw for 169 yards on 12 of 26 attempts.

Even if they lost, Heritage's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Seth Rucker, Gabe Roberts, and Kevin Palma, who each picked up one sack apiece. Heritage got some further help from Rucker: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

As for Wake Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.1 points over those games.

Wake Forest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Olu, who rushed for 128 yards, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Olu's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Landen Perry was another key player, rushing for 34 yards and one touchdown.

Heritage has already played their next contest, a 28-14 loss against New Hanover on the 7th. As for Wake Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 59-28 victory against North Brunswick on the 7th.
