Basketball Recap: Sayre Comes Up Short

Sayre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 49-34 to the MAST Charter II Voyagers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-38 back in December of 2024.

MAST Charter II can attribute much of their success to Jadan Thomas, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in points. Myles Millican was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Sayre's record now sits at 0-10. As for MAST Charter II, they moved to 3-12 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will challenge Vaux Big Picture at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for MAST Charter II, they will square off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
