Football Game Preview: Normandy Invaders vs. Lakewood Rangers

The Normandy Invaders will take on the Lakewood Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Normandy hasn't scored more than 13 points for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Normandy's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Rocky River on Friday. They were outmatched by the Pirates and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Invaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Pirates are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Lakewood played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of North Olmsted. The loss continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Normandy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Normandy came up short against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 32-24. Thankfully for the Invaders, Avery Holt (who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 132 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
