Baseball Recap: North Port Has No Trouble Against Lehigh

With a playoff win on the line, North Port rose to the challenge on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Lehigh Lightning. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won five in a row.

Blake Naylor looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Port got a massive performance out of Rylan Bradley, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Bradley a new career-high. Kayden Davidson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

North Port always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Port's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Lehigh, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Looking ahead, North Port will challenge Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
