Baseball Game Preview: Clemens Buffaloes vs. Canyon Cougars

The Clemens Buffaloes will face off against the Canyon Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clemens' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Canyon will be up against a hot Clemens squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Clemens came out on top against San Marcos by a score of 14-9 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Buffaloes have won by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Canyon duked it out with Johnson on Friday. Canyon fell 8-3 to Johnson. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clemens' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Canyon, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Clemens couldn't quite finish off Canyon in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 and fell 3-1. Can Clemens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
