Basketball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Purple Wave vs. Brentwood Academy Eagles

Christian Brothers hasn't had much luck against Brentwood Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Christian Brothers Purple Wave will take on the Brentwood Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Christian Brothers got the win against Booker T. Washington by a conclusive 63-39. The Purple Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brentwood Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 66-53 win over the Red Raiders. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christian Brothers' victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Brentwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Christian Brothers came up short against Brentwood Academy when the teams last played back in February, falling 57-45. Can Christian Brothers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
