Softball Recap: Champion Wins Going Away Against Liberty

While Champion put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Liberty. The Golden Flashes put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Flashes, who have now won 11 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Adalyn McIntosh was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. McIntosh was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jonna Strock was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Taylor Rouan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Champion and bumps their season record up to 13-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Champion will host Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Liberty, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Leetonia at 4:30 p.m.
