Basketball Recap: Wisner-Pilger Takes a Loss

Wisner-Pilger lost against Howells-Dodge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wisner-Pilger Gators were outmatched by the Howells-Dodge Jaguars and fell 73-25. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Jaguars are ranked 72nd).

Wisner-Pilger's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Howells-Dodge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Wisner-Pilger won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Howells-Dodge, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Mead at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Howells-Dodge is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
