Football Recap: Leslie Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Leslie played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 55-26 loss at the hands of the Millington Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Cardinals are ranked 109th).

When it comes to explaining why Leslie lost, don't look at Joel Cranmore. Despite the final result, he rushed for 84 yards and two scores on only five carries, and also threw for 310 yards on 22 of 46 attempts. The Blackhawks' leading receiver Braydin Johnson was Cranmore's top target yet again, picking up 154 receiving yards.

Leslie is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. As for Millington, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leslie will host Vandercook Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks will be up against the Jayhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Millington, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Harbor Beach at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cardinals 12.5, the Pirates 7.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
