Lanier came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged the Fox Tech Buffaloes out 57-55. Given the Voks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 1330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lanier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Martinez, who went 9 for 20 to rack up 24 points and three steals. Martinez has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. Adrian Fabela was another key player, putting up 14 points and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Fox Tech lost, don't look at Jeremiah Moreno. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Hernandez, who posted ten points.

Lanier's win bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Fox Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-28 record this season.

As of now, neither Lanier nor Fox Tech have any future games scheduled.
