Northgate hadn't beaten Trinity Christian on the road since September 17, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lions 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since September 16th.

Northgate was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (57-55), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Carolina Culver paced Northgate's offense, picking up 12 kills. Culver got some help from Maddy Schmidt and her nine assists. Schmidt and Culver didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

The win made it two in a row for Northgate and bumps their season record up to 16-21. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 21-9.

Coincidentally, Northgate and Trinity Christian will both be playing Landmark Christian the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the War Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
