Baseball Recap: Scott Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Noxapater, Scott Central was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Mount Olive Pirates 11-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Rebels as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

J Waston and L Richmond made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Waston tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Richmond pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Waston scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Richmond scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Richmond a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, C Burks was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was J Nealy, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Scott Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Scott Central picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-13. As for Mount Olive, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Scott Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-0 defeat against Sebastopol on the 22nd. As for Mount Olive, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-9 win against Varsity Opponent on the 22nd.
