Rio Grande City fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mission on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. The Rattlers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Deandre Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yahir Montemayor, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Rio Grande City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Mission, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

While Rio Grande City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
