After flying high against South Caldwell last Friday, North Surry came back down to earth. The North Surry Greyhounds took a 24-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Stokes Wildcats on Thursday. The Greyhounds have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

North Surry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fisher Leftwich, who rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. The dominant performance gave Leftwich a new career-high in rushing yards.

West Stokes had a senior duo take command as Aydden Cherry picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown and Lindann Fleming rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown. Cherry was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards.
