Baseball Recap: West Noble Comes Up Short

West Noble fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Columbia City on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 16-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Trey Shisler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for West Noble: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Eash, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

West Noble has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Columbia City, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

While West Noble had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
