Berry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Central Cabarrus Vikings at home by a 34-15 margin. On the bright side, the 15- point effort marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Although Berry took the loss, they still got scores from Nizione McGee and Romeo Abreu.

Central Cabarrus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damonte James, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. The Vikings are 3-1 when James posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Chris Ikana was another key player, rushing for 141 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Central Cabarrus, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.
